A bride's sister needed a bag in a colour that didn't exist in our catalogue, with a hard date. Here's what made-to-order actually involves.

Hina sent us a photo of her outfit and one question: can you match this?
The honest answer was "probably"
Colour matching from a phone photo is unreliable — screens lie, and the same yarn photographs differently under a shop light and daylight. So we didn't promise. We sent three yarn samples by courier and asked her to photograph them next to the outfit, in daylight.
That's the step people skip, and it's the reason custom orders go wrong.
The yarn problem
The closest match was a discontinued shade. We had enough for one bag and no more — which meant if it went wrong mid-piece, there was no second attempt. We told her that before starting, because a nine-day deadline with no margin is a decision she got to make, not one we got to make for her.
Nine days
Three days for samples and confirmation, five to crochet, one to courier. The Ribbon Muse is roughly 14 hours of work by hand; it does not go faster because there's a wedding.
What it cost
Nothing extra. Made-to-order is how these are made anyway — there is no warehouse of finished bags to pick from. A custom colour isn't a premium service, it's just the normal process pointed at a different yarn.
