What actually matters when a bag has to survive campus: strap width, base structure, and the litre count nobody publishes.
A campus bag has one job and it is not looking good in the first week. It has to hold a laptop, a notebook, a water bottle and a charger, and still be on your shoulder at 5pm without having cut into it.

The litre count nobody publishes
Most bag listings give you a width and a height and leave you to guess. What you actually need to know: will a 14" laptop fit flat, and is there room beside it? If the answer to either is no, it's a handbag, not a campus bag.
Weight, empty
Weigh it before you fill it. Two hundred grams of difference is nothing in a shop and is a lot in month three.
